NOPSSCEA center groundbreaking ceremony held
BACOLOS CITY — Gov. Isidro P. Zayco and NOPSSCEA President Msgr. Noli Que led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Proposed NOPSSCEA (Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association) Activity Center at the Panaad Park in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, yesterday.
The ceremony started with a blessing by Msgr. Que followed by the signing of documents and lowering of the time capsule. A short program ensued which was attended by provincial officials, NOPSSCEA officers, students and representatives of various private schools in Bacolod City.
The center, which will be constructed in a 2,000 sq.m. lot at the Panaad Park, has been earmarked by the provincial government to NOPSSCEA through a Deed of Usufruct that allows the association to utilize the place for 25 years. It is intended to be the venue of trainings for information technology that will complement the educational system of the province.
The construction of the building will be divided in three phases that will include front offices, a gymnasium and a dormitory. The construction cost is pegged at P24 million and it is expected to be completed by year 2012.
Present in the activity were Board Members Melvin Ibanez of the Fifth District who represented Cong. Ignacio Arroyo; Jose Benito Alonso of the Fourth District who represented Cong. Jeffrey Ferrer; Atty. Mercedes Alvarez who represented Cong. Genaro Alvarez, Jr. of the 6th District; Salvador Lacson who represented Cong. Jose Carlos Lacson of the 3rd District; Patching Puentevella who represented Cong. Monico Puentevella; Mayor Renato Malabor of the Municipality of Isabela; Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr. of Cadiz City; and Executive Asst. to the Governor Gerard Tupas, among others. (Capitol News)
