Gma Kapuso Foundation’s typhoon Ondoy drive thankful for overwhelming support from negros
GMA TV 10 SMO Tina Poblador-Magbojos welcomes Nazareth Institute from Sum-ag, students and faculty headed by school administrator Ruby Mirano-JameroGMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc. is thankful for the overwhelming support and generosity of Negrenses with numerous donations in cash and in kind from private individuals, various local business and corporations, churches, LGU’s, schools and universities.
A total of P 300,000 worth of donations were collected by GMA ‘s satellite station – GMA TV 10 Bacolod, during the 1st week alone of the GMA Kapuso Foundation’s Operation Bayanihan for Typhoon Ondoy victims. Over 160 boxes containing various relief goods: ready- to-eat baked goodies, instant noodles, canned food, bottled drinking water, medicines & vitamins, blankets, jackets, footwear and clothes have been shipped to GMA Kapuso Foundation’s Tandang Sora warehouse by local valued partner Negros Navigation Corporation. The free freight for donations and delivery was made possible thru the support of Negros Navigation Corp. CEO Mr. Sulficio Tagud, Jr. represented by Negros Navigation Corp. EVP and Negrense, Mr. Bimsy The goods are being repacked and distributed in various areas with thousands of families who were affected by the typhoon.
Nazareth Institute students turned their donation-giving activity into an instant field trip at the GMA TV 10 Bacolod station.GMA Kapuso Foundation continues to accept donations in kind until this Friday October 9, 2009 at the GMA TV 10 Bacolod office at the 3rd Floor of Security Bank Corp. building, corner Rizal Ave. & Locsin Sts., Bacolod City. Monetary donations will be accepted indefinitely as these are deposited in accredited GMA Kapuso Foundation bank accounts. To date, the GMA Kapuso Foundation has received over P80M worth of donations in cash and in kind for the Typhoon Ondoy victims.
