Libre Sakay
Drivers protesting the operation of the Libre Sakay buses of TESDA Director General Augusto “Boboy” Syjuco in the second district of Iloilo are selfish. They are only concerned about their daily income which they claim will be affected by the Libre Sakay buses. They do not consider the big help of the free ride on the poor people who live on a very meager daily budget where even jeepney fare is being budgeted. The Libre Sakay buses don’t ply a regular route just like the public utility vehicles, they only transport TESDA scholars to the schools where they are taking short courses and along the way it picks up passengers. The buses go out only a few times, maybe twice or a maximum of four times, so they do not really affect the trips of the public utility vehicles which ply their route all throughout the day. The drivers should consider that they don’t have the sole right to live.
Non-negotiable
Dr. Pacita Gonzalez, wife of former Justice Sec. Raul Gonzalez Sr., said that the bid of her son Raul Jr. for a last and final term as congressman is non-negotiable. She said what she is asking is to let Raul Jr. graduate as congressman the same way that they let former Mayor Mansing Malabor, who is formerly allied with the Gonzalezes, and Mayor Jerry Treñas finish their three-year terms. This means Mayor Jerry has no choice but to run for vice mayor if he wants to stick it out with the Gonzalezes. If he breaks away from the Gonzalezes, well, that will be another story.
Cheap rental
Dr. Pacita Gonzalez, who is now in possession of the title of the property where the Templo sang Yawa stands, revealed to a select group of mediamen recently that by next month she will already bill the occupant of the said property rental fees in the amount of P50,000 per month retroactive to the month of July this year, the month when she acquired the foreclosed property from Metrobank for P6.5 million. Asked why the rental is very cheap for such a big property, Dr. Pacita quipped: “kay kawawa man sya.” Baw, maayo lang may kaluoy pa si doc.
