8-year old girl found dead
ROXAS CITY – An eight year-old girl, believed earlier to be abducted by several suspects, was found in advance state of decomposition the other day at Barangay Yating, Pilar, Capiz.
Found in a mountainous part of the said place was Gestil Baltar of Yating, Pilar, Capiz. The victim bore a gunshot wound on his back believed to be inflicted by air gun.
The suspect was identified as Joenel Vergara, 10, of the same place who was last seen in the company of the victim.
The victim was missing since November 5 when Vergara invited her to do bird hunting using an air gun in a nearby forest.
Elements of Pilar PNP Station believed that Vergara shot the victim.
Vergara was armed with air gun during that time and probably he accidentally fired at the victim during their bird hunting.
Meanwhile, the suspect, being a minor, is now under the custoday of Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) in Pilar.
