Castro, Bolante to grace Mambusao fiesta
MAMBUSAO, Capiz – Second District Cong. Fredenil H. Castro, wife Mrs. Jane “Baby” Castro and Department of Agriculture (DA) Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante will grace this town’s municipal fiesta and Inilusan Festival during the Barangay Night on November 21 and Farmer’s Night on November 23 all to be held at Cultural Center located at the town Poblacion.
Mayor Jose “Joe” Alba said that the municipal fiesta celebration slated Nov. 18 – 25 will coincide with the 227th Founding Anniversary of Mambusao, Capiz.
Last year, the guest of the municipal fiesta was Las Piñas City Cong. Cythia Villar, wife of Senate President Manny Villar, who is now running for president in the 2010 election.
Alba said that in this year’s fiesta, there will be no national guests as they are always busy preparing for the 2010 election.
He added that this year’s theme is: “Advocating environmental consciousness through arts and culture.”
Other activities are: November 18 – 19, morning: dry run food festival; November 20: Civic & cultural parade, flag raising of 26 barangays, formal declaration of the opening of Inilusan Festival 2009, Launching of Mambusao Municipal song, Pasundayag sa Inilusan Festival 2009 and Timo-Timo sa Inilusan. Afternoon: Drum & Lyre exhibition, Merry Making around the streets until Nov. 25, cutting of ribbon/grand opening of food festival and cultural show.
Nov. 21: Mayor Jose O. Alba, Jr’s cup (Badminton tournament) and barangay night. Nov. 22: Feast of Christ the King-Procession around the plaza, Hampang Mambusaonon (Indigenous games), Basic Ecclesiastical day mass- Parish Pastoral Council and Coronation of Miss Inilusan 2009.
Other activities are: Nov. 23: Farmer’s day and professionals & employees night; Nov. 24: 227th charter anniversary thanks giving, Inilusan Street dance compitition (Judging area), Lobo & fireworks display and Nov. 25: Pontifical high mass-Parish of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Sadsad/Merry Making around the street and Inilusan visitors’ & disco night-cultural.
