CPU officials assure security during Miss Earth talents night
Officials of the Central Philippine University (CPU), led by president Dr. Ted Robles, assured the safety of Miss Earth candidates and the audience during the Talents Night tomorrow November 17.
Robles said that CPU has its own good security measures that will secure the candidates and the about 3,000 to 5,000 spectators who will troop to its campus for 2009 Miss Earth Talents Night.
As a proof of its good security measures to be implemented, he said that CPU recently successfully hosted the University Games, attended by the best athletes in the country for several days.
He, however, also accredited the police for doing a great job in helping secure the athletes.
CPU Cultural Affairs Office director Dr. Anita Ilenberger said that there would be police reinforcement during the Miss Earth Talents Night.
The 80 candidates of the 2009 Miss Earth will be in CPU in the afternoon of the competition.
Around 3 p.m. of November 17, the Miss Earth candidates will be having a motorcade around the major streets of Iloilo City.
For those interested to see the Talents Night, tickets are being sold at CPU Cultural Affairs Office and CPU Alumni Office aside from the other designated commercial establishments in the city.
Ticket prices range from P2,000, P1,500, P1,000, P500 and P200. (PNA)
