Contractors for Sanitary Landfill told to submit bid till Dec. 2
BACOLOD CITY – Secretary to the Mayor Atty. Vicente Petierre III confirmed yesterday that the Bacolod City Government is inviting all interested bidders and legitimate contractors to submit bid proposals for the project design and build of a sanitary landfill situated in Barangay Felisa this city.
According to Petierre that the publication for the invitation to bid was done last week after it was again reset due to the failure of bids as declared by the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC).
He said that the bidding will be conducted through an open competitive bidding procedures as specified in the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of Republic Act 9184.
Petierre said that the approved budget for the contract was estimated at P33 million. BAC Chairman Atty. Goldwyn Nifras said that the minimum requirements for the contractor was at least 7 years experience in similar projects and has designed at least two local sanitary landfills that are already implemented and operational. He also reiterated that the construction of sanitary landfills and its operation will be done for almost two years.
On the other hand, Petierre further stressed that in case there will be another failure of bidding, they will resort to negotiated contract as subscribed by RA 9184. He informed that the availability of eligibility requirements and bid documents was scheduled yesterday and it will end on December 2, 2009. On November 20, 2009 there will be a pre-bid conference at the BAC Secretariat Office in New Government Center.
