ANS journalism adviser bag regional award
SAN JOSE, Antique – Celestino Dalumpines, school paper adviser of Antique National School (ANS) bag the Regional Award as one of the Top Performing School Paper Adviser in Region 6.
Dalumpines on his 2nd year as Regional Awardee, is an adviser of Ang Madya-as, a school publication in Filipino of Antique National School that has trained numerous students that excel in different aspects of journalism and development communication both in school and in community.
The search for Top Performing School Paper Adviser is on its second year, organized by Philippine Information Agency Region 6. It is its way of recognizing and appreciating the efforts of school paper advisers in promoting development and responsible campus journalism.
Dalumpines will join other awardees from different schools in Region 6 to receive their plaque of recognition on November 26, 2009 at Grand Hotel in Iloilo City.
Atty. Ma. Janet C. Mesa, Regional Director, PIA 6 expressed her gratitude to school administrators/principals particularly Mr. Rodolfo Caberoy of ANS for the untiring support they have been giving to journalism trainings by sending student-participants every year.
PIA believes that school paper advisers are greater force behind the success of school publications who are in many ways instrumental in ensuring that students get the trainings they need to become effective writers, thus this award is due them. (PS Mabaquiao/PIA)
