City AIDS Council to hold Local Dissemination Forum
Bacolod City under Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia through City Health Office will hold a Local Dissemination Forum for the members of the Bacolod City Local AIDS Council (BCLAC) on November 20, 10:a.m at the MassKara Hall of New Government Center.
This forum is in conjunction with the Social Hygiene Division which has recently concluded the mapping of cruising areas in Bacolod frequented by Most-At-Risk Populations: People In Prostitution (PIP) inclusive of the Establishment-based Female Sex Workers (EFSWs); Female Freelance Sex Workers (FFSWs); and Males having Sex with Males (MSMs).
The 6-day mapping activity aimed to determine the estimated population of EFSWs in fun establishments, FFSWs and MSMs in major cruising sites in the city.
City Health Officer, Dr. Salome G. Biñas said that “results of the mapping have been collated and interpreted to define the scenario related to the presence of these sectors which we are compelled to share with key stakeholders who in one way or the other worked and supported the City Health Office”.
During the meeting, activities related to the commemoration of the World AIDS Day which will be on December 1, will also be finalized.
The City Health Office envisions: “Healthy and empowered Bacoleños united to sustain the fight against STI/HIV/AIDS for a better quality of life”.
