Celino denies throwing harsh statements vs Roxases
ROXAS CITY – Former Vice Mayor Allan Celino, Sen. Mar Roxas’s chosen candidate for city mayor, strongly denied that he had thrown harsh statements against the Roxas family during previous elections saying that former Agriculture Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante was ill-informed by somebody since he was out of the country.
“I think Bolante was ill-informed by somebody since he was imprisoned in the U.S.A. during that time, thus he doesn’t know what the real score is,” Celino said.
According to him, transferring from one party to the other is no longer an issue, “they do the same,” Celino said.
However, Celino admitted that he and 1st District Cong. Antonio del Rosario were politically at odds with each other during the 2004 and 2007 elections.
Earlier, Bolante said that Celino had thrown harsh statements against the Roxases and Del Rosario in previous elections.
“I don’t know how Celino could justify to the people of Roxas City what he said before that he doesn’t want Roxas and former City Mayor Antonio del Rosario, now 1st district congressman, to reign in Capiz,” Bolante said.
Bolante said that Celino has eaten his words against Roxas and Del Rosario in 2007 election “but now he wants Roxas and del Rosario”.
In reaction to Bolante’s statement, Celino wondered why Bolante is so worried about the development of his political career. “Are they afraid of me,” the former vice mayor asked.
Celino, along with others bets, was proclaimed by Mrs. Judy Araneta Roxas as the Liberal Party (LP) bet for city mayor in 2010 election (see relared story). Celino will be facing incumbent City Mayor Vicente Bermejo, an LP stalwart but reportedly kicked out by the party due to his alleged association with Bolante.
