Liga prexy: Bermejo, allies to join Bolante’ group if...
ROXAS CITY – City Liga President Wilson Acervo said that should Sen. Mar Roxas, Liberal Party (LP) national president, would not sign the party nomination of City Mayor Vicente Bermejo and his allies before the filing of their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs), they have no option but to jump ship to the Ugyon Kita Capiz (UKC) under 2nd District Cong. Fredenil Castro and former Agriculture Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante.
Acervo claimed that 38 out of 47 barangay captains are still solidly supporting Bermejo’s reelection bid in the 2010 election.
Earlier, rumors spread that Bermejo and his allies will be kicked out from LP since they are allegedly associated with Bolante, however, Acervo strongly denied the allegation.
Roxas warned allies who have joined Bolante’s party that they will be rejected from the party and be considered as enemies. Roxas grilled Bolante in the senate blue ribbon committee in connection with the alleged P728 million fertilizers scam in 2004.
