Dumalag Liga ng mga Barangay to conduct bloodletting
ROXAS CITY – Concerned about the rising demand for blood due to illness and medical operations, the Liga ng mga Barangay of Dumalag will conduct a bloodletting on December 5 at Shot Caves, some 2 kilometers away from the town poblacion.
Liga President Clemente “Budong” Castro Firmalino, told The News Today (TNT) that the liga will expect 5 donors from each of the 19 barangays in Dumalag that could reach 95 benefactors.
Firmalino, a concurrent provincial liga president and ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) also said the bloodingletting activity in Dumalag is already institutionalized to answer the needs of patients in case of emergency.
The said bloodletting will be held in cooperation with Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), town mayor Lilia Castro, Cong. Fredenil Castro and wife Mrs. Jane Castro who is running for 2nd district representative.
Firmalino said that this is now the second time that the Liga ng mga Barangay of Dumalag conducts a bloodletting activity, the first one was held in summer this year at the same venue.
According to him, the bloodletting activity would help address the demand for blood in times of emergency not only in Dumalag but also in other places.
