Bacolod City has 4 bets for Congressman, 4 for Mayor
BACOLOD CITY — There are four candidates for Congressman, four for Mayor, four for Vice Mayor and 38 for Councilor who filed their respective certificates of candidacy before the Commission on Elections in the City of Bacolod as of press time yesterday.
For Congressman are former LTO-NCR Director Ricardo “Cano” Tan, (Lakas Kampi CMD), Atty. Renecito Novero, (Independent), Dr. Anthony Rolando Golez, (Nationalist People’s Coalition) and Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, (Independent).
For Mayor are incumbent Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia, (NPC), Vladimir Gonzalez, (Partido Pag Bag-o), Andrea Si, (Independent) and incumbent Bacolod Cong. Monico O. Puentevella, (Lakas Kampi CMD).
For Vice Mayor are Ana Marie Palermo, (Independent), Johram Alama, (Independent), Wilson Gamboa, Jr., (Independent) and Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, (NPC).
For Councilors are: Vicky Chua, (Ind.), Ricardo Danoy, (Ind.), Philip Montelibano, (Partido Paglaum), Adolfo “Nene” Leonardia, (Ind.), Felbert Quismundo, (Ind.), Jesus Hinlo, Jr., (Partido Pag Bag-o), Robert Francis Coscolluela, (Ind.), Cesar Torrecarion, (Ind.), Maximino Cordero, (Ind.), Edwin Balajadia, (Ind.), Rodolfo Tinsay, (Ind.), Genly Carreon, (Ind.), Bernardo Nonato, Jr., (Ind.), Homer Bais, (NPC), Vicente Petierre, III, (NPC), Juan Miguel Estrella, (NPC), Em Ang, (Nationalista Party), Cesar Destrito, (NP), Carlos Jose Lopez, (NP), Marie Crystal Vega, (NP), Al Victor Espino, (NPC), Dindo Ramos, (NPC), Roberto Antonio Rojas, (NPC), Alex Paglumotan, (NPC), Napoleon Cordova, (NPC), Celia Flor, Bart Orola, Catalino Alisbo, Elmer Sy, Sonya Verdeflor, Bobby Lucasan, Norma Juarez, Buen Gallenero, Archie Baribar, Bong Dilag, Nannette Garcia, Elcid Familiaran and Totong Regalado.
Meanwhile, Cano Tan went back to his home place in Dawis, Barangay 14 prior to his filing of the COC. Many of his supporters came to show their love and support for him.
Tan has once again embraced the place of his birth which is a poverty-stricken and thickly populated area.
They held a program in front of their old house in Dawis where he asked his former neighbors, friends, supporters, family and relatives to give somebody from Dawis a chance to be the representative of the people of Bacolod in the Lower House of Congress.
He filed his COC yesterday. There was also a caravan and a mass prior to his filing of his COC.
The full slate of Bacolod mayoralty candidate Puentevella also filed their COCs yesterday. Puentevella will be running against his favorite political foe incumbent Mayor Leonardia along with the other two candidates Gonzalez and Si.
The COMELEC Bacolod was jampacked with supporters of the said political group to initially show their strength as a political party and candidates.
As of Sunday afternoon, the Grupo Progreso of Mayor Leonardia also filed their COCs.
They also had their caravan and a mass before their file their COC at the City COMELEC.
Leonardia prayed that everyone should be blessed for these elections.
He also urged his brother Nene who also filed his COC for Councilor in the City to “paddle his own canoe” insofar as elections are concerned.
