Chin a DPA of Gonzalez-Gonzalez ticket?
City Mayor Jerry Treñas described Engr. Mike Chin as a deep penetration agent (DPA) of the Gonzalez-Gonzalez tandem.
Chin was then Treñas’s recommendee to the position of City Engineer. He failed to get his confirmation before the Sangguniang Panglungsod during a votation.
Recently, he was among the 12 candidates for councilor of the Lakas-CMD-Kampi.
Treñas said Chin did not see him after he failed to get his confirmation from the legislative body. He said he was then trying to find legal ways to aid Chin in getting the position.
A day after Chin failed to get his confirmation at the legislative body, Treñas issued a statement before the media that he will look for means in helping Chin to get his confirmation as City Engineer.
Since then, Chin made rounds in several radio stations in the city denouncing the mayor on what had happened to his stalled appointment. He did not bother to see me, instead he went to the radio stations denouncing me, said Treñas.
Treñas said he did not expect Chin to run as councilor under the ticket of Presidential Legal Counsel Raul Gonzalez Sr. and Representative Raul Gonzalez Jr.
Chin was among the barangay officials who joined Treñas when the latter made his announcement in running for the congressional race against the younger Gonzalez.
The mayor said Chin’s decision in running as councilor in the Gonzalez-Gonzalez line up will not in anyway affect him. It will even fire back to him (Chin) on what he has done.
In a media interview, Chin earlier said that he will not be joining politics. Though, he felt bad on what happened to him. He became the collateral damage of two warring groups.
Chin, a former barangay captain of Barangay Avanceña, Molo, resigned from his position hoping to get the position as city engineer with Treñas’s intervention.
On his part, the elder Gonzalez said politics played a big role in the supposed appointment. He lamented that Treñas asked Chin to resign but later blocked his appointment.
The Local Government Code clearly states that 15 days after the appointment has not been acted upon it is already deemed confirmed. The matter was left unattended, said Gonzalez.
