Case filed vs 5 ‘basag-kotse’ suspects
Police filed a case of Robbery with Force Upon Things against the five suspects of “basag-kotse” incident in San Jose, Antique on November 29, 2009.
San Jose police filed the case at the Antique Provincial Prosecutor’s Office on December 1.
The suspects, then on board a white Mitsubishi Montero bearing plate number NBI 262, were apprehended in Guimbal, Iloilo during a hot pursuit operation.
The suspects allegedly looted the Nissan Patrol-Safari with plate number WCT 554 driven by Horace Lim and parked at the EBJ Freedom Park, in front of Antique Provincial Capitol, San Jose, Antique.
Police Regional Office 6 director, Chief Superintendent Isagani Cuevas, lauded the San Jose and Guimbal police for the swift resolution of the case with the establishment of checkpoint operations to intercept the fleeing suspects.
“This is another laurel of our 7-9-7 duty shift scheme,” Cuevas said.
The 7-9-7 duty shift is an innovation in PRO6 policing system that ensures enough number of police personnel to respond to call for police assistance and other emergencies.
The suspects are now at the custody of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in San Jose, Antique.
