Out of School Youths attend symposium on Climate Change
SAN JOSE, Antique – Out of School Youths from different municipalities in the province recently attended a symposium on Climate Change and Global Warming.
The activity was organized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office who took the lead in providing relevant education to Out of School Youths under the Country Program for Children funded by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Among the topics discussed during the activity are the Overview on Climate Change, Environmental Issues and Concerns on Climate Change and Green Building Council Initiatives in the Philippines. A Film Showing on Climate Change documentary, water resource management presented by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was conducted to encourage community participation in mitigating the impacts of climate change in humanity.
Climate Change and global warming are among the vital issues that the government is dealing with to cushion the effects of this phenomenon in the country given the fact that Philippines is one of the vulnerable countries in the tropical region. (PIA Antique)
