Mute person is police’s witness in Molo killing
On top of the physical evidences they gathered, police investigators are also relying on a mute person to shed light in the shooting incident at Brgy. North Baluarte, Molo, Iloilo City.
Molo Police Station chief Senior Insp. Danilo delos Santos said that they are still looking for an able person that could communicate to their witness who saw the killing.
“We will be needing someone who understands sign language for us to communicate with the witness,” delos Santos said.
At around 12:45 of Sunday, reports said that victim Rowel Bajon, 20, also of the said place, was on a drinking session with his friends and neighbors Julius Espinosa and Russel Quidado when the incident happened.
It was gathered that the trio went to a wake and decided to drink in the area.
Police investigation claimed that the lone gunman just passed by the roadside, aimed his gun at Bajon, and shot the latter.
The suspect then fled on foot going to the dimly-lit portion of Brgy. Tanza-Baybay, City Proper.
Bajon was rushed by his friends to Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
As this developed, delos Santos said that the motive of the incident is yet to be established.
“We are looking at the possibility that it was an act of retaliation but rest assured that all angles are being looked into,” he added.
By retaliation, the Molo police chief said that Bajon’s brother was earlier involved in a stabbing incident.
“We are exploring that angle but we are not ruling on it as the motive,” delos Santos said.
