Man hangs self to death
A 52-year old man allegedly committed suicide Saturday afternoon at Brgy. Nahapay, Guimbal, Iloilo.
Jose Gerzalino reportedly took his own life by tying an electrical cord around his neck and hanged it on a mango tree, which is some 200 meters from his home.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was found by his sister in-law, 47-year old Teresita Gerzalino, hanging on the tree.
Residents still rushed the victim to Guimbal District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Gerzalino’s family saw no foul play.
They suspected that the victim got depressed after learning that nothing all the money he got from his Social Security System (SSS)’s benefit was all used up for his hospitalization.
It was gathered that the suspect earlier suffered stroke and had been recovering.
