Casa Real Provincial Gallery Opens
“A room for art and a place for nationalism.” This would be the definition of Casa Real Provincial Gallery, a project of Provincial Council for the Culture, Arts, History and Tourism.
Casa Real is an art gallery located at the Old Capitol Building , which accommodates arts events, exhibits, book launch and other historical gatherings. The Gallery offers the space for free, with a small amount of percentage on sales if it is a artwork merchandize.
The Casa Real opens with an inaugural show entitled “The Journey Back to the Shores” by Joseph Firmeza, Iloilo City ’s dynamic artist. He exhibits his artworks which illustrates the idea of time based on nature (the sun, moon, wind). The use of color, lines and abstract shapes visualizes the element of such as air, earth, fire and water affecting the human condition.
Firmeza also illustrates on his works the idea of uninhibited way of creating marks and applying paint capturing the flow of emotions, with glyphs of some images that attempts to capture an atmosphere of the local mind set.
