TMEU head considers LODA’s complaint as ‘make believe’
TRAFFIC Management and Engineering Unit (TMEU) chief Senior Inspector Bob Foerster denied the allegations of the Leganes Operators Drivers Association (LODA) over the inadequate car pass issued to the association.
Foerster described the allegation of LODA president Jun Lacanaria as “make believe.” It is only a matter of management. There are also several driver associations in Leganes which managed to continue their operations and does not complain on the number of car passes provided to them.
He added the old car passes issued to the driver associations were already recalled. The new ones are already distributed to them as their entry pass in going to the city.
The driver associations in the different municipalities in the province of Iloilo were provided car pass by the TMEU as their entry pass in going to as embodied by the Perimeter Boundary Ordinance (PBO).
The number of car passes depends on the concerned municipalities. First towns or the towns under the Metro Iloilo Development Council (MIDC) will receive 30 percent of the total number of registered public utility jeepneys operating in the municipality. The car passes are issued to different driver organizations.
In the town of Leganes, there are at least five driver groups which include LODA. Whether each group has less or more members, the computation for the issuance of the car passes is fix on the 30 percent of the total number of registered public utility jeepneys.
