Establishments should renew business permit before Jan. 20 deadline
MORE than 9,962 new and old commercial establishments in the city are reminded to renew their business permits before the Jan.20 deadline. There is no extension for the renewal of the permits.
Mayor Jerry Trenas said the Business Permit and Licensing Division and City Treasurers are ready to accept applications for business permits renewals.
The permits and licensing division of the city government has issued 9,962 business permits in 2009.
Trenas appealed to owners of establishments to renew their business permits before the deadline to avoid inconvenience. He stressed the Jan. 20 deadline would not be extended.
Trenas said the renewal of the business permits would be easier since there is a computerized system of recording at the treasurers’ office and licensing division.
The computerization program in the said offices is ongoing. The city government was given a grant by the World Bank in its computerization program.
It would not take a long time in renewing the business permits as long as the required documents are complete when submitted by applicants, said Trenas.
Establishments which failed to renew their business permits in the given period would be charged by the treasurers’ office. The penalties would depend on the number of days the renewal of permit was delayed.
