Firearms seized in Sipalay City
BACOLOD CITY – Seven suspects were arrested Saturday night by patrolling elements of the 4th Maneuver Platoon of the Negros Occidental Public Safety Management Company (NOPSMC) after two homemade shotguns were recovered from them inside the Sipalay City mine site.
Police Superintendent Norberto Boston, commanding officer of the NOPSMC, identified those arrested as Rolando Asuelo, 31, Gerardo Asuelo, 24, Alimar Jimena, 20, Victor Jimena, 26, Remy Pabores, 30, all residents of Sitio Pinamay-an in Barangay Camalanda-an in Cauayan townand Kristoffer Villarito, 34, and Albert Ilagan, 20, of Barangay San Jose in Sipalay City.
Senior Police Officer 1 Crispulo Dela Vega led the arrest of the suspects inside the mine site in Purok Pahayahay in Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City .
The suspects were attempting to steal a BI pipe when accosted. They are now detained at the Sipalay City PNP station pending the filing of appropriate charges in court. (PO2 Jay V Geneblaza)
