BACOLOD CITY -- City Legal Officer Atty. Joselito Bayatan ordered yesterday the demolition of the 12 illegal structures standing along San Juan Street, Purok Malipayon, Brgy. 12, Bacolod City.
He said that the grace period which was given by the city already expired last January 4, 2010.
“We are now towards the second week of January and the structure are still there despite the fact that the place is considered public nuisance,” Bayatan added.
He reiterated that his office had already sent a notice to voluntarily demolish the illegal structure last December 15, 2009 and they were given a fifteen (15) days period.
Bayatan identified the 12 illegally built structures as owned by the following, namely, Lito Barrios, Armando Barrios, Joy Uy, Romy Tacdoro, Rogelio Avillar, Evelyn De La Cruy, Armando Tacdoro, Leopoldo De Guzman, Natang Santillan, Martin Manoso, Selma Manoso and Valentin Inson.
Aside from this, Bayatan also said that there are nine occupants who built illegal structures along the national highway of Barangay Tangub who also face demolition order from the city government.
He confirmed that the group was already given a demolition order last November 2009 to remove their illegal structures.
Bayatan said that a demolition order was already issued to the group last November 24, 2009 but they appealed not to effect the order since it was yuletide season.
He said that the illegal structures were occupying the sidewalk fronting the property where the private establishment is situated. Bayatan confirmed that the actual demolition may take place next week after the notice will be sent to all the occupants along the national highway of Brgy. Tangub.
