IDFI invites enterprising students to join Estudyante Negosyante contest
Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. (IDFI) is inviting enterprising college students to join the 2010 Dinagyang Festival Estudyante Negosyante.
The Estudyante Negosyante is a school-based competition which aims to create an economic opportunity, provide avenue and develop entrepreneurship, teamwork, leadership and business skills of students.
It is a joint project of the foundation’s committee on kiosk and in cooperation with Coca-Cola Bottlers. The City Tourism and Development Office is this year’s in-charge of kiosks committee.
The contestants must be enrolled in any college or university in the city or in any part of the province that offers business related courses such as accountancy, marketing, management and entrepreneurship.
A maximum of two groups shall be allowed to represent the school. Interested participants must submit their registration form to the city tourism office on or before Jan. 19.
The organizers will set up 20 kiosks in front of Casa Plaza for the competition. Each group is entitled for occupy a free kiosk with free electrical power for three days. They must decorate their kiosks to go with the festival’s mood.
Participants could start selling their merchandise or products on afternoon of Jan.22. Products should have appropriate price tags. They are “strictly prohibited” from selling cigarettes and liquor or any alcoholic drinks in their respective kiosks.
Aside from the students’ choice of products to offer, organizers would provide each group 10 Dagoy dolls to sell at P350 each. It would be in consignment basis. Participants would earn P50 in every doll they sold.
The participants in the Estudyante Negosyante contest shall be judged based on the physical appearance of the kiosk, students marketing attitude towards clients and buyers and the number of Dagoy Dolls they could sell.
