CPOC to sponsor film showing
The City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) chaired by Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia will sponsor a movie, “Tulak”, starring famous local actors and actresses like: John Regala, Ma. Isabel Lopez, Julio Diaz, Criselda Volks, Richie d’Horsie, Melissa Mendez, Pia MOran, Lyka Ugarte and Liz Alindogan.
“The movie deals with society’s malady, drug addiction, and the city is encouraging people to watch the movie for educational purposes,” said Bacolod Vice Mayor Thaddeus Sayson. Sayson is Vice Chair of CPOC.
The CPOC will try to involve various sectors in sponsoring this movie, as this vice has an encompassing effect on the different sectors of society, he said. Incidentally, all actors and actresses involved in the making of this movie were, at one time or another, users of prohibited drugs. This will make the presentation very believable, Sayson said. It is also for general patronage, he added.
Tentative plans is for the movie to be shown in three venues: Robinsons, SM City and Gaisano movie houses. The CPOC plans to bring in the lead actors in “Tulak” during a gala showing, hopefully on March 5, 2009.
