Kako Lacson: ‘It’s time to be home and serve my people’
BACOLOD CITY – Rep. Jose Carlos “Kako” Lacson, 3rd District, Negros Occidental, turned 68 years recently with a life, healthy and blessed.
Serving his district and Talisay City for more than two decades will be his big preparation for coming home and serve again his beloved people in Talisay.
“I was the younger Mayor of Talisay when I entered the realm of public service. The people I served fully well have given me their mandate for more than two decades to be their Mayor and Representative in the Halls of Congress. All the towns and cities in my district received all the projects and assistance they all deserve. But this time, Talisay will be my focus. This is my home and this is where I will focus serving my people again,” he said.
Lacson is running for Mayor against incumbent Mayor Eric Saratan.
He said, “I cannot choose the name of my competitor. I respect whoever is my competitor. But I just want to tell the people of Talisay that the best is yet to come for our city.”
Among his priorities when he will be successful in his quest for the Mayoralty post in the City of Talisay is for Talisay to become a business-friendly City. “We want to create employment in Talisay because employment creates dignity to our people. We will be so friendly because we are the city next to Bacolod City. As Bacolod City is politically intense, we are preparing for its eventuality as the alternative choice of the investors next to Bacolod City.”
Lacson has been grateful for the good health and good life that God has given him and his family. “This is the 68 years of having a good life.”
Lacson traditionally celebrates his birthday at his residence in Talisay where the people from government officials, workers, his constituents, family and relatives come to greet him.
It was an early morning celebration but in the later part, Lacson chose three barangays in Talisay namely Sitio Nacab, Zone 16, Dos Hermanas and Zone 15 to hold his medical and dental missions.
There were 700 residents who avail of the medical and dental missions.
Lacson said that, “it’s heartwarming that you serve the needs of your people especially their health.” The medical and dental missions had free check up and free medicines.
Moreover, his beloved wife Cecile greeted him as well. She wished him good health and good luck for whatever endeavor he is into now. “I have been very supportive with him and my gift to him is my everlasting love.”
Having a good health and a life with a purpose is something that they as a couple should be thankful to the Lord.
