P4.9B Panay flood control underway
ROXAS CITY – The Panay Flood Control Project which is intended to solve frequent flash floods in Panay Island especial Capiz province amounting to P4.9 billion is underway.
This was revealed by Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr during the Provincial Development Council meeting held at provincial capitol yesterday.
According to him, the plan to have flood control in Capiz province was approved by NEDA and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) which also made the plan for flood control.
Tanco also said that the plan to have flood control in Capiz was also pushed and approved during the Regional Development Council meeting recently attended by several governors and public officials of Western Visayas.
Meanwhile, some P1.6 billion was also approved during the PDC meeting yesterday attended by mayors and representative from 16 towns.
The annual investment plan was prepared by Antonio Asis, PPDC and G. Antonio Arbis, budget officer and attested by Gov. Tanco.
The annual investment plan was presented by Asis and was unanimously approved by members of PDC.
