PhilHealth WV has its new head
PhilHealth Regional Office (PhRO) VI is now under the leadership of Marilyn C. Geduspan, its new Regional Head, pursuant to Special Order No. 16 series of 2010 dated January 8, 2010 issued by Dr. Rey B. Aquino, PhilHealth President & CEO, re-assigning all Regional Heads to the different regional offices.
A simple turned-over ceremony was held last January 12, 2010.
“It is my honor to continue what RVP Albert Manduriao has started with PhRO 6. I am proud that this region has been acknowledged by PhilHealth management with your innovating milestones and huge contributions to the Corporation in terms of its business processes and service focused programs towards client satisfaction,” said RVP Geduspan.
RVP Geduspan used to head the region but was re-assign to Central Office sometime in 2005 where she became the Department Manager of the Special Programs particularly the Overseas Workers Program when OWWA turned it over to PhilHealth in March 1, 2005. During PhilHealth’s reorganization, she headed the Corporate Communications Department and lately the PhilHealth NCR – South Office.
As of December 2009, PhRO VI has attained far more than its target as it hits 121% universal coverage in Western Visayas, wherein 131% of the marginalized members of the society are covered under the Sponsored Indigent Program. Additionally, PhRO 6 is also considered as one of the “Billionaire” regions of PhilHealth in terms of premium collection.
PhilHealth increased its benefits in April 5, 2009, and PhRO6 has paid more than 1.6 Billion pesos amount of benefits.
Regional Vice President, Alberto C. Manduriao, who led PhRO 6 for over 3 years is also re-assigned at PhilHealth Regional Office 4-B based in Batangas. RVP Manduriao thanked the support of everybody especially the Local Chief Executives and other stakeholders for their unwavering help in the implementation of the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP). As he leave he reminded PhRO 6 staff, “Let us continue to serve better our clients, they are the reason why we are here in government service.” (Larry T. Tabsing)
