Infotext numbers for reporting violations of election laws
Reporting of any and all forms of alleged violations of Comelec resolutions and other election laws is now made easy.
The Regional Joint Security Control Center (RJSCC) headed by the Comelec Regional Director, Atty. Dennis Ausan, assigned mobile numbers to cater all information and reports regarding violations of Comelec resolutions and other election laws.
The infotext numbers are: 09204908912–RJSCC; 09083770187–Aklan JSCC; 09198544167–Antique JSCC; 09178943150–Capiz JSCC; 09183389488–Guimaras JSCC; 09188001985–Iloilo JSCC; 091730311983–Negros Occidental JSCC; 09152734089–Bacolod City JSCC; and 09212403031–Iloilo City JSCC.
The contact numbers are monitored by the Election Monitoring Action Center of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) as deputized by the Comelec.
PRO6 director, Police Chief Superintendent Isagani Cuevas, said the designation of infotext numbers is a way of getting the involvement of the citizen in the conduct of an honest, peaceful and orderly May 2010 elections.
Cuevas said the regional, provincial and city police offices of the PNP will also establish response forces/teams to act on various complaints thru infotext and set up a 24/7 interlinked monitoring system of all locations and activities of established JSCC stationary checkpoints.
The region’s top cop, however, enjoins the public to use the infotext numbers responsibly.
“We encourage everyone to use the infotext numbers only when necessary,” he said. (FB Lindero Jr.)
