City to open lying-in clinic for Bacoleños
Mayor Evelio Leonardia recently announced that one of his administration’s priority projects for this year is the construction of a lying-in clinic for the residents of Bacolod City.
Leonardia said that based on a study conducted by the city government, it would be more practical for the city government and the constituents to put up a lying-in clinic that will become a precursor to the construction of a city hospital soon.
The lying-in clinic, the mayor said, will help decongest the Western Visayas Regional Hospital and will help, most of all, the less privileged Bacoleños.
The lying-in clinic, Leonardia said, will be housed at the building vacated by the Civil Registrar’s Office at the City Health Office Compound. It will be supervised by the City Health Office and will be operated by a private hospital.
The mayor expressed hopes that the city government will be able to address further the health and welfare of many Bacoleños with the establishment of the lying-in clinic and the city hospital soon.
The city government is set to enter into a memorandum of agreement with a private hospital for the operation of the said clinic.
