Parole and Probation handles 123 investigations in 2009
BACOLOD — The Parole and Probation Office 1- Parole and Probation Administration (PPA), reported that for the year 2009, a total of 123 investigation cases had been referred to their office.
The office also received 21 courtesy investigations and two clients from the Board of Pardons and Parole, according to records provided to the PIA. Parole and Probation Office 1 is headed by Parole and Probation Officer Marie Grace Malata.
The PPO conducted 15 community interviews last year and is currently working with 115 case loads as of January 2010.
Parole and Probation Office 2, meanwhile, had 68 investigation referrals, seven courtesy investigations, seven Board of Pardons and Parole and conducted seven community interviews.
The agency also served 26 parolees, one pardonee and is currently handling a case load of 115 clients as of January this year.
The office is headed by Probation and Parole Officer Grace Tomaro.
The Parole and Probation Office 1 covers the municipalities of Murcia, Don Salvador Benedicto and part of Bacolod City while Parole and Probation Office 2 covers about 20 barangays in Bacolod.
The PPA has a mission to rehabilitate probationers, parolees and pardonees and promote their development as integral persons by utilizing innovative interventions and techniques which respect the dignity of man and recognize his divine destiny.
Towards this end, the PPA here is conducted several programs and projects to meet the needs of their clients.
One of them is the Therapeutic Community, TC, where each participant is given the chance to express what they feel in their sessions and through creative means such as drawing interpretations. (PIA-LOL)
