IDFI thanks supporters for Dinagyang’s success
Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. (IDFI) vice president Ricardo Andrada expressed gratitude to those individuals and groups who helped in the successful holding of 2010 Dinagyang festival.
Andrada was overwhelmed with the support and participation of the private individuals, groups and the city government for their unending assistance to the foundation after the week-long celebration culminated.
The collaborative effort of city government, groups and private individuals made the yearly festival in honor of the Child Jesus a success. The foundation overcame their woes in financing all the Dinagyang-related events, subsidy and cash prizes for the winners.
IDFI’s committee on Kasadyahan chair, Dr. Eden Deriada also expressed her gratefulness to the municipal mayors in the different provinces in Iloilo for allowing their respective festivals in joining the Kasadyahan competition.
This year’s Kasadyahan festival is a competition among the festival’s in the different municipalities in Iloilo. Nine festivals competed in the contest where the Tribu Kasag of the town of Banate was declared as champion. The group also got five minor awards.
The competing groups greatly improved this year. They get better in terms of choreography, performance and artistry in depicting the festival they represent, said Deriada.
