Sen. Roxas lauds Iloilo Dinagyang Festival
ROXAS CITY — Senator Mar Roxas lauded the recently concluded Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City.
In a press release obtained by The News Today (TNT), the senator said that the performance of the tribes this year was impressive and colorful. “I have noticed that the number of visitors have dramatically increased this year,” he quipped.
During an interview on a local TV station, Sen. Roxas expressed his happiness every time he visits the festival. “I hope that the joy I felt this very moment will also be experienced by the Illonggos,” he added.
Liberal Party (LP) vice presidential bet Sen. Roxas visited the fire victims of Brgy. Nabitasan, La Paz, Iloilo City last January 24, 2010 where he gave relief goods to the fire victims. The senator also assured to them that he will do his best to help them and send more assistance so that they can start a new life.
The people flocked the senator upon his arrival at Brgy. Nabitasan Elem. School, which serves as evacuation center for the now homeless villagers. They are very thankful that in unfortunate time like this, the Sen. Mar showed up and prove that he is a true Illonggo.
Meanwhile, the Capizeño senator believes that the movement to throw out senate president Juan Ponce Enrile will not succeed. “They don’t have the numbers to oust him,” said the senator during an interview here.
He also believes that the allies of Sen. Manny Villar want to bury the C5 issue. “Sen. Villar was given the opportunity to answer the issue but his only response to it is that there is a conflict of interest, which is unacceptable. Dapat magpakatotoo siya at sagutin niya ang isyu. (He should be true to himself and answer the issues),” he added.
It is very clear according to Sen. Roxas that the C5 issue is a clear abuse of authority by Sen. Villar. “He used his position to for his personal gain,” the senator quipped.
