One killed, two wounded in Jaro rumble
One person was killed while two others were injured after a commotion at Fajardo Subd., Brgy. Sambag, Jaro, Iloilo City.
Arthur Galas, 20, of Zone 6, Brgy. Sambag, Jaro succumbed to a stab wound on his chest.
He was declared dead on arrival at Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital.
Meanwhile, Reynaldo Subong, Jr., 29, also of Fajardo Subd., and a certain Ogie, 17, of Zone 6, Brgy. Sambag, were brought to West Visayas State University Medical Center.
Both sustained stab wounds on the left portion of their stomach.
Reports claimed that while cousins Galas and Ogie, together with eight of their friends, were on their way to the house of one of their companions, they chanced upon Subong’s group.
Subong was with a certain Jerome Malunda, 39, of Fajardo Subdivision; Restituto Subong, 38, of Brgy. Railway, La Paz, and another unidentified person.
Due to personal grudges, they allegedly stab one another.
But according to Subong’s employer, Aira Taala, the former just accompanied his brother outside when the incident happened.
“Nagdul-ong lang siya sang utod niya. May gilinamo sa gwa, nabun-an siya. Wala ko kabalo kung sin-o ang nagbuno sa iya,” Taala claimed.
Meanwhile, Galas’ companion, Ibrahim, claimed that there was a rumble and he later saw Galas slumped on the pavement.
He could not explain, though, what was Subong’s role in the rumble.
As this developed, investigation is still going on to ascertain who would be held liable for Galas’ death and the injury of two others.
