As seen in his political ads, Liberal Party presidential bet Noynoy Aquino’s crusade is to stop corruption in the country. A noble crusade indeed, but it is doubtful if his partymates also carry the same vision. It is a fact that many candidates under the LP are facing corruption issues. Tuloy ang laban?
Mayor Jerry’s group
Mayor Jerry Treñas is seeking the congressional post under the Nacionalista Party of Sen. Villar. With him in the party are vice mayoral bet Councilor Joe Espinosa III, his “bilas”, and four councilorables. But many had observed that Mayor Jerry is not joining the group of Joe III as they go around the city’s barangays. Mayor Jerry, on the other hand, can usually be seen with the JJJam-Palangga Team of Vice Mayor Jed Mabilog and Councilor Jam Baronda. “Daw ginapabay-an ni Jerry and grupo ‘ya. Kun amo man lang gali na plano ‘ya kundi nag LP nalang siya ukon nag PMP,” said one political observer at a coffee shop in Marymart Mall which is owned by mayorable Larry Jamora.
Messy center island
Street sweepers had placed strings and bamboo sticks on the center island at Ledesma Street, City Proper (specifically the span from corner Valeria and corner Quezon) to prevent pedestrians from crossing. If the intention is to permanently bar pedestrians, then the city government should have installed railings on the center island so that it would not look messy. Kalaw-ay gid tulukon daw indi kita highly urbanized city.
