Comelec bares 7 poster areas in Iloilo City
With the start of the campaign period for national candidates and more than a month remaining before the campaign period for local candidates, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has identified seven common poster areas here.
Comelec Acting Officer IV G’Bert Arbis yesterday provided all local candidates copies of memorandum designating seven common poster areas in the city which they must observe.
At present, however, posters of different sizes of local as well of national candidates are posted anywhere in the city.
The move was pursuant to Section 22 of Comelec Resolution No. 8758 that designates common poster areas for candidates and party list groups for the May 10 automated national and local elections.
The seven common poster areas are: Corner Osmeña and Rizal Streets in Arevalo district; portion of Molo Plaza fronting Consing Residence and Caltex Gasoline Station in Molo district and corner Oñate and Q. Abeto streets in Mandurriao.
Also, Rizal street in Jaro district; Burgos-Mabini street fronting La Paz Maternity Clinic for La Paz ditrict; Lapuz National High School, Abanilla street for Lapuz district and portion of Plaza Libertad fronting PNB J.M. Basa street for the City Proper district.
