LP mayoral bet in Ivisan vows not to get salary
ROXAS CITY – A mayoral candidate in Ivisan, Capiz promised that if he wins in the coming election he will not get salary his salary, instead he will use it to finance the concreting of the road from the poblaction to Barangay Basiao of the said municipality.
Retired police officer Paeng Untayao, Liberal Party mayoral bet in Ivisan, made the promise to put an end to the sufferings of the people using the nine kilometer road.
Untayao said, Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr. also committed that once reelected he will contribute labor and equipment for the road concreting while retired police general Roberto “Bobby” Lastimoso also promised to contribute sand and gravel if he wins as representative of the Second District of Capiz.
Untayao, for the second time around, is opposing incumbent Mayor Felipe Yap who is an ally of Cong. Fredenil Castro and former Agriculture Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante.
He opposed Yap last 2007 election but he was defeated. Untayao, however, is confident that this time he will win the election since he is supported by Sen. Mar Roxas and other political allies of LP in Capiz.
Untayao, a successful businessman in Manila, also said that if given the chance to become mayor of Ivisan he will shoulder the licenses of all trisikads plying in the town for the years.
The retired police officer said he is willing to give a guarantee in any form and to have witnesses to ensure that he will fulfill his promises once elected into office.
