Research forum for grad school students set Saturday at WVSU
Hundreds of Master and Doctorate students of West Visayas State University College of Education will be participating in a Research Forum at the WVSU Rehearsal Room this Saturday, February 13.
The whole-day colloquium, sponsored by the Graduate School Student Council in cooperation with the DOST-SEI scholars (WDSA), will feature presentations on winning theses and workshop-discussions in action research, math and science investigations.
“This gathering intends to enhance our fellow students’ grasp on research,” Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Tuberada, the GSSC president, said, adding, “we find it important for us graduate school students to always keep pace with the trends in churning out and craft quality papers for further education.”
At a registration fee of P150 that includes snacks for two and lunch, students are to listen to the presentations of the winning theses of Homevergel Ong, Genevieve Rosano and DOST-SEI scholar Jessica Arsenal. This will be followed by workshops facilitated simultaneously by Dr. Elvira Arellano (Action Research), Prof. Emellie Palomo (Mathematics Investigation), and Prof. Ma. Elena Bernadette Hojilla (Science Investigation).
DOST-SEI Scholars (WDSA) president Engr. Herman Lagon, for his part, said, “we partner with the GSSC because we know that this event is a good venue for improving educators’ understanding on research and investigation—most especially in areas of science and math. In fact, this will never be the last, for we in the WDSA and GSSC are planning to do more similar activities together in the months to come.”
To note, the WDSA is under the advisory of WVSU COE Dean Dr. Editha Sillorequez while the GSSC is under the moderatorship of Assistant Dean Dr. Alona Belarga and Prof. Hojilla.
