Construction of Lying-In Center begins
BACOLOD CITY — Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson confirmed recently that Riverside Medical Center Incorporated already started last week the construction of the Lying In and Birthing Home Center to provide basic health services of all indigent and pregnant mothers ready to give birth.
Said Birthing Home Center was realized through the program initiated by the Hospital and the City Government of Bacolod.
Earlier, Riverside and the City Government had agreed to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement for the conversion of the City Health Center into a Lying In Clinic intended to imrpove the health services being provided in the said Center. Sayson said that under the Memorandum of Agreement, Riverside Medical Center Incorporated shall be responsible for providing the initial medical supplies worth P10 million. After which, it shall be the duty and obligation of the City Government to provide for the necessary medical supplies by the efficient operation of the Lying In and Birthing Home Center.
Sayson said that the said Center will be operational in June this year. Under the MOA, the City Government shall be responsible in keeping the Medical Supplies and Hospital Equipment in good condition and working order, normal wear and tear excluded.
