Police hunts illegal recruiter
ROXAS CITY – Police are currently hunting the alleged illegal recruiter who victimized nine job seekers and duping some P80,000 from them.
Roquita Villarisco, 43, of Brgy. Tanque here is nowhere to be found after her victims filed charges against her. She reportedly is hiding in Metro Manila.
Last week, nine victims reported to the Roxas City police station that they were victims of illegal recruitment. They were: Maria Luisa Arciga, 31, of Brgy. Dinginan, Roxas City; Techie Sabordo, 27; Antonette Anievo, 25, of Brgy. Banica, Roxas City; Maritess Sabordo, 39, of Banica Tulay, Roxas City; Mary Medalyn dela Cruz, 23, of Brgy. Lanot, Roxas City; Ma. Lindy Mae Lim, 26, of Poblacion, President Roxas, Capiz; Jodelyn Baselonia, 21, of Arnaldo Boulevard, Roxas City; Mary Jean Bebayo, 30; and Vivien de la Cruz, 32, of San Roque Street.
Victims said that the suspects asked amount from them as payment for placement fees and processing papers.
They were also promised by the suspect that they could work abroad in October last year but it was not fulfilled prompting them to file complaints.
Reportedly, Villarisco had been victimizing some 100 job seekers by asking P3,000 to P20,000 from each applicant as placement fees where she collected some P500,000 from them.
Report said that the suspect was able to send some job seekers to work abroad however, it was only last year that most of her clients failed to work outside the Philippines. She reportedly started her recruitment sometime in 2005.
