Pontevedra dad blames colleagues for non-approval of budget for brgys
ROXAS CITY – A member of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Pontevedra town accused his colleagues of sabotaging the approval of funds for barangays by always not attending the sessions resulting to the frequent lack of quorum.
SB Member Alan Catalan blamed his colleagues, who belong to the other party, for making absences since January up to the present thus, the council failed to approve the annual budget for barangays.
Catalan, who is seeking reelection bid under Liberal Party, claimed that out of 26 barangays in Pontevedra, 20 are supporting Mayor Steve Contreras.
He added that barangay executives in Pontevedra could hardly work without budget as their funds in their barangays are still hanging for approval at the council.
According to him, the LP’s bets in the council are SB Members Ricky Buloso, Vivian Daynolo, Abraham Molo, Jr., Edmar Baldonado and himself.
Meanwhile, the UKC bets were not reached for comment regarding Catalan’s allegation.
