KCC-TC inaugurated in Kabankalan
The Kabankalan Catholic College-Technological Center was inaugurated recently with His Excellency Christian Ludwig Weber-Lortsch, German ambassador to the Philippines as guest of honor.
The school is located in a 3-hectare site near the city hall in Brgy. Talubangi. The lot was donated by the Jalandoni heirs who was represented by Juan Javier Garcia, administrator of the RJC Farms Corporation at the inaugural rites.
The blessing was officiated by Most Rev. Patricio A. Buzon, bishop of Kabankalan and KCC president. He was assisted by Fr. Radny Bayog, KCC college dean and Fr. Ramon Florete, Diocesan Oeconomus.
Also present were Gov. Isidro Zayco, Mayor Pedro Zayco, Vice Mayor Delia Anacan and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod. Cutting of the ribbons was done by Rr. Daniel Elemia, rector, Talamban Provincial House and Teresa Ramos, asst treasurer, Ang Kabankalanon representative.
The school offers courses in dressmaking, building wiring installation, shielded metal arc welding, computer hardware servicing and computer programming. To follow is the automotive-small engine servicing.
Presently, the school has only 25 students per trade with the assistance of Don Bosco Technological College of Cebu in its system and technology. This project is realized through the help of DonBosco mission, Germany and funded by the Germany Ministry of Economics and Development Cooperation. There is a bond of P1,000 per student upon enrolment and to be given back upon graduation. (Eddie Yap)
