City Gov’t turns over P1.5M to CLMMRH
The Bacolod City Government, through Mayor Evelio Leonardia, turned over yesterday to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) the initial amount of P1.5 million that will form part of the Bacolod City Emergency Medical Assistance Program, an annual project of the city government that is aimed at helping the less privileged cope with their medical expenses.
The Bacolod City Emergency Medical Assistance Program has been a very beneficial endeavor of the city government since 2004. For the past year alone, the city government has provided more than P10 million to many constituents who needed medical and burial assistance.
The City Government intensified this program by providing an additional P1.5 milion to Western Visayas Regional Hospital.
Leonardia said that it has always been a priority of the city government to ensure the welfare of the less privileged and he expressed hopes that through the various medical assistance programs, the city government are able to help those who cannot afford to pay for medical treatment and services.
Bacoleños who will be able to avail of this intensified program will get free medical services and medicines at the WVRH. Medical services and medicines that are not available at WVRH can be obtained from other hospitals/medicines, chargeable to the allocated funds at the regional hospital.
Bacoleños who intend to avail of the medical assistance program must first secure a referral slip from the city government, through the Department of Social Services and Development. The referral slip will then be submitted to the DSSD personnel assigned at WVRH for facilitation.
