Anti-drug movie Tulak showing March 5-7 in Bacolod
The Bacolod City Peace and Order Council, CPOC, is now preparing for the showing of the anti-drug campaign movie “Tulak” next week that aims to deliver the message to every doorsteps of Bacoleño homes that drugs destroy a person’s life.
Bacolod City Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson said the movie will be shown especially to high school and college students but is strongly campaigning that parents watch the movie as it is an equally compelling and highly educational film for them that establishes connection between youths to their parents.
Businessman Crispin Chua of MBCCI said the movie is an excellent springboard among youths and parents for starting an educational guidance to the youths on illegal drug.
CPOC sought the support of LGUs, business sector, local officials, NGOs and government employees.
A parent, who requested for anonymity, said he will watch the movie with his child and explain the message of the story as they watch together.
CPOC gave him the given the rare chance to watch the movie in advance.
Target dates for showing is on March 5, 6 and 7 and proceeds will benefit the Philippine Mental Health Association, Reach Rehabilitation, Bacolod Social Development Center and the Bacolod Mental Health.
Tickets are now being distributed to sponsors and intended audience as Vice Mayor Sayson appealed to Bacoleños to support the anti- drug dependency campaign of the city in any way they can- especially this movie.
“Tulak” features Rafael Rossel, the male lead star, with former self-confessed drug dependents who made a turn-around to lead a normal life.
These stars include Maria Isabel Lopez, Julio Diaz, Fanny Serrano, Criselda Volks, Lyka Ugarte, John Regala, and Ynez Veneracion. (PIA-LOL)
