Retired city cops grateful for lifetime monthly allowance
BACOLOD CITY — Members of the Bacolod Police Retirees Association, Inc. expressed their appreciation and gratitude yesterday to Mayor Evelio Leonardia and the city government for the passage of a city ordinance that provides for a lifetime monthly allowance to all retired Bacolod policemen.
The group cited the mayor as a “great leader and architect of progress and economic development in Bacolod City”, through a plaque of recognition that they presented to Leonardia yesterday.
The association, composed of 130 retired policemen, thanked Leonardia for implementing the provision of City Ordinance No. 499 that grants a lifetime old age assistance of P1,000 monthly and for appropriating funds to uplift the morale of the member retirees and their respective families.
Leonardia said that the retired policemen deserve assistance for their incalculable years of invaluable service and heroism and for keeping the peace and order in the city, which the mayor stressed is a big factor in the city’s economic progress.
