Lastimoso vows to install watchdog to monitor projects once elected
ROXAS CITY – Former PNP Chief and retired Gen. Roberto “Bobby” Lastimoso reiterated that he will install a watchdog committee to monitor all projects in the 2nd district of Capiz once elected into office in May 10, 2010.
Such statement was revealed by Lastimoso as one of his platforms of government during the political forum hosted by students and faculty of the Filamer Christian College (FCC) last week.
Lastimoso said earlier during the forum (know your local candidates) hosted by Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion (CPC) that the pork barrel is not bad per se but it will depend on the congressman if he or she will properly implement it in the projects.
For the 2nd time around, his opponent Mrs. Jane Castro, wife of 2nd district Cong. Fredenil Castro, was not around during the political forum.
Asked what specific measures he will undertake to combat the ecological problem, Lastimoso said that the climate imbalance is a result of men’s abuses in the environment.
According to him, the two-strokes engines of vehicles should be phased-out as it emits smoke that affects the ozone layer causing global warming.
He said that there should be no cutting of tress, instead the people should plant and grow a tree and avoid pollutions on environment.
Lastimoso said that he decided to return back to Capiz and offered himself to serve his kasimanwas since he served for more than 30 years in public service but he never served the people of Capiz.
Lastimoso, a former PNP chief, Land Transportion Office (LTO) Usec, Manila Rail Transit (MRT) manager, is running for 2nd district congressman under the banner of Liberal Party (LP).
Also present during the political forum were: 1st district Cong. Antonio del Rosario, Former Cong. Rodriquez Dadivas, Diosdado Tinsay, Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr. and former Agriculture Usec. Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante.
