Sapian municipal gov’t to distribute water to residents
ROXAS CITY – Sapian town under the leadership of Mayor Arturo “Turic” Orosco, Sr. will distribute water to supply the needs of residents as part of measures to combat the effects of El Niño phenomenon.
Mr. Arns Caberte said in “Tikol-Tikol” program hosted by this writer and Noel Valentino, that Orosco already distributed some 5,000 water jugs and 5,000 water ‘tumblers’ to be utilized for water impounding.
The country’s weather bureau said earlier that the El Niño phenomenon will affect Capiz province and Roxas City until June 2010.
Caberte said that a water tanker donated by Muntinlupa City will also be utilized in the distribution of water to the residents of 10 barangays.
Caberte said that First Lady Evangeline Orosco who is reelected as president of alumni association in Muntinlupa facilitated the donation of the water tanker.
Caberte, who is executive assistant of the mayor, revealed that the funds of the acquisition of water jugs and tumbler is a personal money of the mayor and not sourced from the public funds.
He strongly denied there was conflict between the first lady and Mrs. Jane Castro, wife of 2nd District Cong. Fredenil Castro.
“That is a mere political block propaganda perpetrated by opponents to mislead the people of Sapian,” Caberte clarified.
