Capiz dad wounded in a family feud, survives
ROXAS CITY – A member of Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Dumarao survived from a serious condition after his elder brother shot him last Wednesday night in Poblacion Ilaya, this municipality.
SB Member Abel Padernal, 42, single, and a resident of the said place was shot wounded by his elder brother Luis, 55, after a heated argument ensued between them.
The victim sustained gunshot wound on his hand and his face inflicted by .38 revolver. He was rushed to St. Anthony College Hospital for medical treatment where he is now declared by physician out of danger.
Initial investigation conducted by Dumarao PNP revealed that the incident took place at around 7 p.m. March 3 when the elder Padernal who is reportedly under the influence of liquor arrived and asked the victim to buy more liquor to drink.
However, the victim refused to do so since the suspect was already too drunk and instead pacified the suspect to create commotion.
The police also said that the suspect got irked and got his .38 revolver and shot the victim. The victim reportedly tried to parry the gun but it exploded hitting his hand and exited through his face.
The suspect is now detained at the lock-up cell of Dumarao PNP station while his .38 revolver is missing.
