Hundreds of Midwives attend Scientific Seminar
BACOLOD CITY — About 320 midwives from health centers, government and private hospitals in Negros Occidental attended the one day Scientific Seminar held yesterday (March 4) at the Provincial Social Hall, with the theme “Midwives: Frontliners in Obstetric Emergencies.”
This scientific seminar is coordinated and organized by the officers of Philippine League of Government and Private Midwives Inc., (PLGPMI) Negros Occidental Chapter.
Dr. Anthony Golez, TOYM Awardee, gave an inspirational message while Dr. Ma. Cherryle Banas Exmundo, Medical Officer III-OB Dept. of CLMMRH, was the guest speaker with the topic ‘Obstetric Emergencies’.
Lourdes B. Magbanua, president, PLGPMI, Neg. Occ. chapter, spoke on ‘Breastfeeding Updates’ while Marie Flor B. Cabaylo, vice president, PLGPMI, Neg. Occ. chapter tackled the ‘Community Managed Maternal and Child Care’.
Almost all hospitals and LGUs from North to South of the province sent their midwives in this scientific seminar. (PIA/cad)
