Mondia’s killers also target court judge
ASIDE from former Pulupandan Mayor Luis Mondia, there was another target for liquidation, said PNP Regional Director Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas, following the filing of charges against the former’s killers.

As it is, the politician turned out to be Mondia.
For the judge’s security, Cuevas withheld the target’s identity.
Earlier, Cuevas identified Mondia’s gunman as Joebert Gumban while Bernardo Pacifico served as the fomer’s buddy.
Also charged for murder were Eusebio Poblacion, Primitivo Pacifico, Ramy Enojo, Jerry Solido, alias Otong Lawlaw, and four John Does.
Cuevas claimed that the suspects are not fall guys.
He asserted that that they have gathered evidences and solid testimonies from eyewitnesses.
“We’re able to find out that there were several persons who were offered to drive the motorcycle. That’s why, nabu-o ining trabaho because of so many offers made through the course of the assassination plan. Ang aton problema is we don’t have a witness yet to link the mastermind to whoever he is,” Cuevas admitted.
To note, Mondia was gunned February 17 after coming out from an Ash Wednesday mass at the Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral at M. Jalandoni St., Brgy. Seminario, Jaro.
Mondia, 55, was with his wife Evelinda and 7-year old granddaughter hearing an Ash Wednesday mass.
He was about to board his Mazda pick-up when a suspect shot him thrice.
Mondia was brought to Iloilo Mission Hospital but died several hours later.
He was running for the Pulupandan mayoralty race against incumbent Mayor Magdaleno Peña.
